Red-Eared Slider Turtle Caught at Shannon Lake

Image by Brendan Schlamp May 26, 2018

This Red-Eared Slider was spotted at Shannon Lake Regional Park, West Kelowna on May 26th, 2018 by Brendan Schlamp while volunteering with the Peachland Sportsmen’s Association at the Go Fish Program. He shared his pictures with me a week later on June 2nd. Later that afternoon I managed to locate and catch what appears to be the same turtle. It was a large adult female with a shell length of 26 cm and weighed 2.6 kg.

Thanks to Brendan for sharing his pictures!
